The reviews are in!

Firstly thank you for the invite to come and see Beauty and the Beast last night. I had a great evening and I was blown away with the production, Daimen and team have obviously worked so hard to achieve such an amazing show. Everything about the production was excellent – sound, lighting, acting, dancing, singing; and I didn’t see a single person during a scene change which means the crew did an excellent job too!
There are far too many people who shone last night to mention, but I must say a few things about just a select few, but please do not let this detract from the entire company!
Abigail was fantastic as Belle. Belle is a challenging role to play as the character needs to take the audience on a journey with her. It is very easy and ‘normal’ for the pretty girl to fall in love with the pretty boy. Abigail and her acting made everyone think twice about how we treat people on initial appearances and by the end of the show, we all truly believed every word she was saying and every emotion she was portraying.
Jordan as Beast was brilliant – it is no easy feat to act and sing with the costuming and masking he has to wear, and by the time he sang ‘If I can’t love her’ the audience were putty in his hands!
Bailey, Dominic, Luke, Ruth, Heather, Philip and Elaine were fabulous in their roles and their voices and acting were superb.
A special mention must go to Matthew as Lumiere. His comedic timing was spot on. I have a very strong feeling that he will be adding his own lines in and spin on the character by the end of the week (much to Daimen’s horror I am sure!!) He is definitely one to watch and suspect he is going to go on to do great things.
Overall, I was so impressed Sharon. Your production of Beauty of the Beast was of an exceptional quality and I would be proud to put your production onto the stage here at Milton Keynes Theatre.
I can honestly say that I am very excited to see what production you will be doing next and ask that you keep me a ticket to one side as I will definitely be there! Please do pass this onto the cast and company, I love for them to know that their hard work and effort is paying off.
.

I would like to congratulate you and all the team – cast, musicians, backstage and technical team on the Beauty and the Beast production. Once again you have set a new high water mark for Walton High performance quality! The singing and acting was very professional and I noticed a new level of nuance on the delivery of many of your performers, in particular Abigail, who delivered a great feisty heroine along with her singing. Mrs Potts, Lumiere and Cogsworth almost stole the show with their mature performances.
I thoroughly enjoyed the comic timing of Gaston and Lefou and the energy skill and timing of the dancers and singers was first class. It is nice to see that your “development programme” is able to deliver students to maintain and extend already high standards.
I’d especially like to make mention of the musicians, almost “unsung heroes”, hiding in the depths of the orchestra pit, producing music that was so polished and well-timed. Those remaining as they completed the finale music gave them their own well deserved applause.
I am already looking forward to the next one
Well, what can I say Beauty and the Beast was absolutely fantastic. I thought Hairspray (again another amazing show) was going to be a hard act to follow. I came on opening night with family friends who I am sure thought were going to sit through a "school performance". They were astounded, this was more than a "school performance", they likened it to watching a West End Theatre show which indeed it was. Congratulations to all the cast and crew. Coming again on Friday with family travelling up from Wales especially to see the show, can't wait!

Just a quick not to you and all your staff and cast to say that the Beauty and the Beast performance was AMAZING on Tuesday, credit to everyone's hard work i really enjoyed it...Abby Taylor -wow!! :)
Good Luck for the rest of the week
Just to say - miss you all already. I had a great time working with you all
again and WHAT A SHOW!

Congratulations to you, the amazing cast, tech team et all

A True pleasure being part of the team!!

beautiful enchantress flying across the stage. From beginning to end the cast and crew of Beauty & the Beast amazed me with their professional and stellar performance. The hours spent in rehearsal have not been in vain and the students commitment really shines through from the enthusiastic chorus line to the spectacular visual & sound effects, flawless set changes and utterly convincing performances of the main characters. The ‘Be Our Guest’ song was a particular highlight, the co-ordinated choreography alone was impressive to have so many students on stage and dancing, but the singing absolutely brought the house down. Each and every student really put their hearts into the performance and the enjoyment of the audience was easy to see. I’d be going back for more if it wasn’t sold out! Mentions must also me made of the spectacular costumes and set which were provided on hire by UK productions. They professionally toured the same costumes and set around the world for over 5 years. The shows Lighting was designed by Paul Need of Ten out of Ten productions, a close friend of Walton High and The Venue who we thank deeply for his help and support.
just wanted to say congratulations and thank you on a fantastic show. Please pass on my thanks and congratulations to the band and to Mr Daggett, Mr Copping and other staff involved with the band (I've emailed Mr Upton separately). The quality of the music is so high I'm sure a lot of people believe the music is pre-recorded and those of us that do know it's live often forget because the standard is so high - it's brilliant!
I've become accustomed to the high standard of the school's shows but B&B has exceeded my expectations and this fantastic production puts Walton High in a league of it's own. The show is absolutely fantastic, it's just such a shame you don't get to see it yourself! The story and music took me through the whole range of emotions and I'm feeling emotionally drained, such is the high quality of the production (I've seen it twice and will be back on Friday!) and feel so proud of all the students and to be associated with the school.
Everyone has worked so hard and the students are very fortunate to have such wonderful, committed and supportive Teachers.

Good luck for the remaining performances and I hope you enjoy the rest of the run and a well earned break during the half term holiday!

Dear Beast cast and crew,

I would just like to congratulate you all on such an amazing performance tonight. It is clear that all the hard work and dedication has paid off. You should all be very proud of yourseleves and each other as I know I am. Keep it up and you will keep blowing your audiences away each and every night.

WOW! What an amazing night - thank you!

I've become accustomed to your high standards and I knew this show would be good, but B&B has surpassed my expectations. Set, costumes, props and effects were fantastic and the performers absolutely brilliant. The story took me through the whole range of emotions, from joy and laughter to tears of saddness and pride in your wonderfully talented students. The quality of the performance sets Walton High in a league of its own.

Please pass on my huge congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in B&B for putting on such a fantastic show and a very enjoyable evening. I can't wait to see it again tonight (and Friday!).

I would also like to thank you and the school leadership and Governers for providing the students with such wonderful resources. The set and costumes must have cost a fortune and the students are very privilged to have been given access to what will, I'm sure, result in an unforgottable experience and memories I'm sure will be long lasting. Also my thanks go to you and all the staff who have put in so much time and effort. I totted up over 200 hours of rehearsals, so huge respect to you, the staff and students for all your hard work.

With very best wishes and kind regards
